Strong Felt: The Work of Lisa Klakulak

Lisa Klakulak is a textile artist who works with beads and felt in a variety of mediums. Her focus is to use natural dyes and hand made processes to create works of art, one stitch at a time. Her pieces are uniquely beautiful. As you scroll through her jewelry, you will likely see familiar items such as her "Fragility" necklace, one of my favorites. What I find so wonderful about her work is the color and texture she creates with her uniquely shaped designs. Her portfolio also includes Handbags, Sculpture, Clutches, and Body Textiles. To see her extensive line of work, please click on the title above. Enjoy!

The Art of the Rosary

Rosaries have always fascinated me. From the simple to the divine, they are an Art in and of themselves. I found a website with a wonderful representation of rosaries through the centuries - from Europe to South America. They also offer original, hand made rosaries including chaplets made with Klew's Beads. Click on the title above to begin a fascinating journey into the world of the rosary. Enjoy! Nellie Mae Lampwork

I was over at Mido's Bead Trotter blog and discovered a wonderful lampwork artist from Australia. She creates beautiful beads! I normally don't post on the lampwork artists as I try to keep the focus of this blog on seed bead art, but her beads are really something and I thought I'd share. She's got a great photo album on Flickr, which you can access by clicking on the title above. Enjoy!

If you didn't catch the Live Earth concert on television, you can view the individual artist's online at by clicking on the title above. You'll watch a commercial before viewing a band, but that's the price. Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Sting, Pink Floyd, Madonna.......the list goes on. Hooray to Al Gore for his efforts and don't forget to recycle and reuse - 'cause we can't trade in our home for a new model.
Enjoy the concert!

Clara Francis Jewelry

I stumbled across an interview with Clara Francis in the January edition of Bead - the UK's newest beading magazine. She has a lovely website which can be accessed by clicking on the title above. To view her works, click on "Collections" once you reach her site. Her work is simple and elegant and uses a mixture of seed beads and metal work. I'm a big fan of butterflies and you'll see many different styles in her jewelry. Once you've visited her site, be sure to preview the Bead magazine from the UK by clicking in the iMag edition HERE.
