Transformation: A Beadwork Exhibit

Hi Beadweavers!

I'm back from a little break I took after the Bead Dreams deadline. Good luck to all the beadweavers out there who entered! I've got lots of news to share with you this week and to get you started......

susan mandelThe Society for Yoruba Bead Artists has issued a Call to Artists for a beadwork exhibit entitled Transformation. The subject of Transformation is open to individual artist interpretation. You can read the prospectus by clicking on the title above. The entry deadline is September 1, 2008; selected pieces will be exhibited at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, February through April 2009. Thanks Louise. They are typical of the "Diviners Bags" which are often traded for a lot of money, but not technically "authentic". These were made for the tourist trade.
